Frans Wiwanto named 'Compliance Influencer of the Year' in the RAW Compliance Awards 2021
Frans Wiwanto is the Head of Compliance for Flywire in the Asia Pacific region. He manages a great team of professionals with responsibility for all matters within compliance. Over the past year Frans' and his team has continued to focus on the education, healthcare, travel, and B2B sectors and helped clients undergo their own digital transformation.
As an advocate of Fintech and payments in general, Fran loves to read and write articles about the industry and is passionate about public advocacy on the importance of compliance to build a trusted and sustainable business, effective with well-articulated views, adopts balanced and reasonable positions. He has published several Fintech and compliance articles, participated in numerous webinars providing in depth analysis and perspectives on financial crime regulations and the constantly evolving industry.

What advice would you give to aspiring individuals in your field?
"Never be afraid to try new things and fail at them. Whether you succeed or fail, the lessons derived from that experience is priceless as they all serve to build up your character. Let us think back when we were young. Did falling or tripping make us give up on trying to walk? The answer is no. But somehow as we grow older, we tend to lose that drive for adventure as fear of failure progressively takes over. Never stop trying. The true pleasure lies in the trying rather than the succeeding or failing. If you love what you do, the success will come."
