RAW Compliance Awards 2021
The Dark Money Files named 'Compliance Podcast of the Year' in the RAW Compliance Awards 2021
The Dark Money Files is a podcast which explains to a non-technical audience how "Dark Money" (e.g. money laundering, corruption, bribery, tax evasion) enters the financial system and infects everything it touches.
Through their podcast, webinars and conferences, they have managed to reach thousands of compliance and other interested staff across the industry. They've connected people to other people and ideas that they might not otherwise have come across, provided training and insights that have had an impact in a number of firms, and added a little humour and enjoyment to the life of listeners.
"It's great to be recognised by such a key organisation. We're delighted and it strengthens our resolve to keep going and keep growing.
We have been struck this year by the difficulty of communicating the true impact of some of the big stories, where mainstream reporting and commentary take a brief look at the stand-out sensational aspects and quickly move away to other news. The real learning is harder to glean and requires a less superficial approach. When things are moving quickly, we are best served sometimes by slowing down." - Ray Blake, Director, The Dark Money Files
What advice would you give to aspiring individuals in your field?
"Talk to people, as many as you can, as often as you can. Refuse to recognise the concept of a 'stupid question'; ask lots of them and be happy to answer them when they are asked of you."
About the RAW Compliance Awards 2021
RAW Compliance Awards are held each year to recognise the people and organisations that have made a difference and impact in the community including helping to shape the industry ecosystem and maintaining the highest level of compliance standards through an ever changing and complex regulatory landscape.
